A Victorian silver vinaigrette, by Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham 1846, shaped rectangular form, with traces of gilding, the hinged cover engraved with a river scene, with a paddle steamer and a town and bridge in the background, the base with engine-turned decoration and a vacant cartouche, a scroll foliate pierced grille, length 3.5cm, approx. weight 0.5oz. Provenance: A Private Collection. Purchased from Christie's, South Kensington, 2 May 1995, lot 166.
