In-4 with [1] engraved title, [8] ff.-551 pp.-[9], 4 full-page plates drawn and engraved by François Chauveau. Red morocco, ornate ribbed spine, framed in the Du Seuil style, gilt edges (period binding). Rare second quarto edition of Pierre Corneille's verse translation of the Imitation of Jesus Christ, reproducing the text of the 1654 in-4 edition with the same figures by Chauveau. Ex-libris H. Bordes and Jean Hersent. A very fine copy. (Tchemerzine, IV, 138.)
