Walch, 1619. Engr. view (195 x 295 mm) above letterpress explanation. 'Einblattdruck', 310 x 400 mm (sheet size). (Small rep. on v° to margins). NOTE: In 1618, a landslide caused a stir that affected the small town of Plurs/Piuro in the upper Bergell Valley in Graubünden which was completely destroyed. The place was and is located below Monte Conto, whose rich deposits of lavez stone, a soft and heat-resistant slate, were extensively mined for centuries. The landslide that the undermining and hollowing caused in the rainy summer of 1618 occurred on the evening of September 4th, or, according to old calendar calculations, on August 25th. A similar sheet, also with the address of Walch and with reference to the same subject, was published in the same year, not present here.
