Mantelpiece clock "à la naissance du Duc de Bordeaux" in finely chased bronze, gilded with matte and burnished; the movement surmounted by two doves pecking at each other in the form of a terminal with a bas-relief base. Quadrangular base featuring Rousseau teaching boys; feet decorated with pelicans feeding their young. The enameled annular dial with guilloché center shows the hours in Roman numerals. This clock represents Marie-Caroline, Duchess of Berry. She is breast-feeding young Prince Henry, born on September 29, 1820, symbolizing maternity.
