Hungary Magyar Munkásmozgalmi Intézet Múzeuma. (Museum of the Institution of the Hungarian Labor Movement.) Album with 45 OPhotographs. (Budapest), (1950). Each silver gelatin prints. Dimensions mainly approx. 17 x 23 cm. Each firmly mounted in 4° linen album with cord binding. The title page printed in gold, the photographs each with a frame and a short description in Hungarian (album somewhat rubbed, minimally stained). The representative album - presumably a gift to a comrade - shows the collection of the exhibition of the institution of the Hungarian labor movement, which was opened in 1950. The exhibition presented the history of the Hungarian and international labor movement in chronological order, from the revolutions of 1848 to the end of the Second World War, the "liberation" of Hungary by the Red Army. The photographs in the album show all ten rooms of the museum, starting with the entrance room, where the busts of Lenin, Stalin and the Hungarian leader of the Communist Party, Mátyás Rákosi, were exhibited. Each room was dedicated to a specific era and displayed it in a propagandistic way. The well-known symbols of the workers' movement, the most important posters of the Hungarian Soviet Republic and the outstanding personalities of Hungarian and international communism were presented, with special emphasis on Rákosi. - The silk shirts delicately browned in the margins, a few prints somewhat creased. Overall well-preserved album with historically interesting OPhotographs. Hungary - (Museum of the Institution of the Hungarian Labor Movement.) Album with 45 orig. photographs. (Budapest), (1950).
