Collection of 64 OPhotographs with reproductions of works by Lucas Cranach the Younger and the Elder. Probably early to mid 20th century. Mostly silver gelatin prints on photographic paper (Agfa Portriga-Rapid, Agfa Lupex, etc.). Dimensions from 11 x 8 cm to 23.5 x 17 cm. Partly mounted on card. Mostly inscribed in manuscript on verso, including 1 photograph with annotation by the important art historian Max J. Friedländer and with photographer's and institute stamp. Collection presumably created for art historical research. - One photograph cut into two parts with depictions of Adam and Eve verso with autograph annotation by the art historian Max J. Friedländer: "The wings with Adam and Eve photographed below are in my opinion well-preserved works by the older Lucas Cranach. Max J. Friedländer. Berlin (...) 1929.". - Friedländer was considered an expert in the field of Old Netherlandish and Old German painting and graphic art. Verso with various stamps. Stamps on verso, including "Louis Held, Weimar", "Museum der bildenden Künste Leipzig", "Bildarchiv Foto Marburg", "Staatliche Fotothek Dresden", "Bayer. Staatsgemäldesammlungen", the hs. Annotations in various hands. Hand. - Some silvering, altogether in good condition.
