Namibia Photo album with 44 OPhotographs from the time of the colonial war in Namibia. Circa 1906, predominantly silver bromide gelatin prints on photographic paper. 13 x 18 cm to 17.5 x 23 cm. Each mounted in cardboard sheets. Inscribed in writing on these. Some verso with photographer's stamp "G. Reinebeck, Photograf, Windhoek, D.-S.-W.Afrika" and additionally inscribed in pencil. Landscape 8°. Wd. Album d. Zt (somewhat rubbed, scuffed and bumped). The photographs were probably taken by a member of the imperial Schutztruppe. - Shown is: Missionary school in Amboland (Ovamboland) Andonga a. Homaruru before the war, Ovambo women, Ovambo children pounding flour, Herero women building pontoks a. children playing, monkey straps. playing children, Herero making monkey straps, missionized natives (Christian Herero girl from Okahandja and others), first prisoner shipyard during the war in Okahandja, Herero chief Zacharias with his family in captivity in Okahandja, various buildings in Okahandja (Ovambo). Buildings in Okahandja (military hospital, mission station, officers' kitchen and chicken farm, Hotel Michels as well as Hotel Sapeur and church), Kunene, Otjiwarongo, mine, post and police station in Tsumeb, police depot Spitzkoppe Emperor's birthday 1910, a.o. - partly somewhat faded, few photographs somewhat stained or with small marginal defects.
