Japan Album with approx. 200 OPhotographs and photo postcards from a trip to the Japanese Alps northwest of Tokyo. 1933. Dimensions from approx. 5.5 x 7.5 cm to approx. 9x.5 x 14 cm. Mostly silver gelatin prints on photographic paper. Landscape 4°. Each mounted in wove. Album d. Zt. cord binding and drawing on front cover. The photographs on the album pages mostly inscribed and dated (album somewhat light-stained). Documents a three-week trip to the mountains of the Japanese main island: ascent of the Norikura, the Kamakochi plateau, the Yarigatake, the Yakegatake, the Yari and Ko-Yari. Then in the south: ascent of Ontake, visit to Tenryugawa Valley. Other stops include: Ise, Futaminoura and Kobe. - With some lith. Postcards, some with typographical inscription on recto and some contemporary. Photographs by others. - Partly slightly silvered or discolored in margins, but overall very well preserved and comprehensive collection.
