Brod, Max Handwritten postcard with signature to the Austrian writer Karl Hans Strobl in Brno. Prague, July 8, 1913, postmarked. Brod would like to request that a decision be made soon regarding his "submitted novella about the critic Waldmensch. I hope that it will be favorable, for in terms of subject matter and tone I will hardly be able to produce anything more suitable for the journal you publish. - I am also in the habit of always basing my behavior as a contributor on the treatment of my first submission and am either eager or lukewarm, depending on the case." - Strobl (1877-1946) had been the editor of the magazine "Der Turmhahn" since 1913. Brod had responded to an invitation to send in his work. - Paper somewhat browned, recto somewhat stained in the center, generally in good condition. - With: Portrait photograph of the young architect Otto Bartning (1883-1959). Vintage. Gelatin silver bromide print. Format 17.5 x 8.7 cm. On Agfa Portriga-Rapid photographic paper. Slightly rubbed in places, in good condition.
