"Sous-bois en Savoie", 1992 Oil on canvas Signed lower right, dedicated to Marcel Pujol on reverse 56 x 46 cm Provenance: Marcel Pujol Collection (1901-1990), French soldier deployed in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos in the 1920s-1930s. He joined the army in 1920 and was integrated into the Indochinese Guard in 1928. It was during his missions in Indochina that Marcel Pujol met the painter Henri Mège in 1933, then commander of the Imperial Guard in Hué. From this meeting sprang a deep friendship between these two "brothers in arms", who fought together against the Japanese army and were fellow prisoners when they were imprisoned. This friendship, marked by particularly trying times in Indochina, but also by moments of joy on their respective returns to France, where they met up with their families all over the country, lasted until the end of their lives. As a token of his affection, Henri Mège presented his friend Marcel with a number of works - oils on canvas, watercolours, drawings and cartoons on loose sheets - which have since been preserved by the family and which we are privileged to present today. Là trong những nhiệm vụ tại Đông Dương mà Marcel Pujol gặp họa sĩ Henri Mège vào năm 1933, khi ông là chỉ huy của bộ binh hoàng gia Huế. Mối quan hệ bạn bè này, đánh dấu bằng những thời kỳ đặc biệt khó khăn tại Đông Dương, nhưng cũng có những khoảnh khắc vui vẻ khi họ trở về nước Pháp, nơi họ sum họp cùng gia đình ở khắp nơi trên đất nước này, kéo dài cho đến cuối đời của họ. Henri Mège, như một biểu hiện của tình cảm, tặng cho bạn thân của mình Marcel nhiều tác phẩm - dầu trên vải, tranh nước, bức vẽ và châm biếm trên giấy -, sau đó được gia đình lưu giữ và chúng tôi rất may mắn được trình bày hôm nay.
