Ⓟ MINAO ISHIKAWA (XXe siècle)

Rare subject in bronze with brown patina depicting a nude woman standing on a quadrangular base. Signed K.m Ishikawa on the base. Height : 26.5 cm Mr. Ishikawa Minao (石川 巳七雄, 20th century), under the artist name Koyo (浩洋), taught casting techniques at the Hanoi Professional School. We wish to rectify an error of attribution concerning this "K.m Ishikawa" signature. It has long been considered to be that of Kinichiro Ishikawa (石川 欽一郎, 1871-1945) by several auction houses, but after verification on our part, we have found that this is a confusion. Kinichiro Ishikawa was an artist mainly active in Taiwan during Japanese colonization, specializing in painting. He never worked in Vietnam for foundries. This signature would correspond more closely to the artist Koyo Minao Ishikawa, also known as K. M. Ishikawa. He graduated from the Tokyo School of Fine Arts and moved to Hanoi in the early 20th century to manage the foundry at the Hanoi Vocational School. Chủ đề hiếm hoi được làm bằng đồng patina nâu mô phỏng một phụ nữ khỏa thân, ký tên K. m Ishikawa. MINAO ISHIKAWA (Thế kỷ 20) Cụ Ishikawa Minao (石川 己七雄), dưới tên nghệ sĩ Koyo (浩洋), dạy kỹ thuật đúc trường nghề Hà Nội (Hanoi Vocational School) Chiều cao: 26.5 cm
