MUSIC - THIBAUD Jacques (1880 - 1953) - Photograph dedicated

Studied violin and won first prize at the Paris Conservatoire. Wounded during the war, he had to relearn to play. Together with Pablo Casals and Alfred Cortot, he formed a world-renowned trio. He taught at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris and founded the Lang-Thibaud competition with the pianist Marguerite Lang. He was a friend of Eugène Ysaÿe, who wrote his Second Sonata for him. He died in a plane crash. Autographed photograph, dated 21.10.1948 dedicated to Paul Langer.
