Born Lambert, she married the lawyer Alexis La Messine, then widowed Edmond Adam. She founded the Nouvelle Revue in 1879. Her salon was frequented by writers and politicians of the Third Republic. Élisabeth Sophie Françoise Lalive de Bellegarde (1730-1813), Comtesse d'Houdetot, was the daughter of farmer-general Louis-Denis-Joseph Lalive de Bellegarde and Marie-Thérèse-Josèphe Prouveur. On February 28, 1748, she married Comte d'Houdetot Claude-Constant-César (1724-1806), Maréchal de camp. This writer inspired Jean-Jacques Rousseau to write "La nouvelle Héloïse" and "Confessions". She had a nearly 50-year affair with the poet Jean-François de Saint-Lambert - Lettre A.S. "La Comtesse d'Houdetot". Letter written on March 17 (circa 1750), concerning the furnishing of her home.

Eulalie Élise Dosne (1818-1880) was the daughter of Alexis Dosne, stockbroker, Receiver General of Finances for Finistère and Regent of the Bank of France, and Eurydice Matheron (1794-1869). She had a sister Félicie (1823-1906). In 1833, she married Marie Louis Joseph Adolphe Thiers, future President of the Republic. Marie Céline Blanche Richel (1859-1933) was the daughter of Clément Laurent Richel, a teacher, and Clémence Léontine Sampité. On August 13, 1878, she married Paul Doumer (1857-1932), who became President of the French Republic in 1931. Doumer was assassinated in 1932. Blanche Richel lost 4 of her 5 sons in the 1914-1918 war. Autograph signed visiting card written in Paris on November 05, 1931 to Madame Paul Doumer. Note concerning an order for hats.
