Prince of the House of Habsburg. Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire from 1576 to 1612. He was also King of Bohemia, Hungary and Austria. Although educated, he was incapable of ruling. At the end of his life, he suffered from fits of madness. Letter signed in German, signed “Rudolf,” 2 p. Letterhead with calligraphic initials and large seal on the fourth page. Untranslated document by Rudolf II. Vienna, 18.2.1584 addressed to the imperial tax attorney. In fine condition except for some lacks at the paper creases.

Franz Joseph I (1830-1916) of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine was Emperor of Austria and King of Hungary and Bohemia from 1848 to 1916. From 1854 he was married to the Wittelsbach Elisabeth (known as Sissi).
