HISTORY - HOCHE Lazare (1768 - 1797) - Letter signed
General at the age of 25, he commanded the army of Moselle. Two years later, he put an end to the civil war by pacifying the Vendée and Brittany. He died of illness on the Prussian front at the age of 29. Letter signed and dated Brest, 10 Frimaire an V (30.11.1796) to the minister for war, concerning the expedition to Ireland. Citizen Haus requests to be employed in the expeditionary army commanded by General Hoche: "… c'est un fort bon officier d'administration, veuillez bien lui permettre de me joindre…”. 1 p. In-8.
