Interesting flintlock musket for an officer of the Royal Guard or National Guard, barrel with thunder and round sides, stamped on the three sides: "B R" surmounted by a royal crown, between two laurel branches, in an oval and : "R"; engraved on top, in fancy Gothic letters: "A. LE PAGE"; length 74 cm, caliber 17.5 mm; breechblock tail stamped "22"; lock model An IX, ice-polished (perhaps originally blued, traces remain on the hammer); bronze fittings, trigger guard and trigger guard of the type used by the King's bodyguards, finished with a fleur-de-lis. King's bodyguards, finished with a fleur-de-lys, iron stock heel monogrammed on the return: "A B" or "A P"; grained walnut stock, hallmarked: "J N" and stamped: "J 22"; iron ramrod; overall length 114 cm. Restoration period. Very good condition.
