Double-barrel damascus percussion rifle, numbered 1154 and 40, Liège hallmarked, sight band inscribed in gold letters "Canon Damas D'acier", blued and case-hardened iron locks signed "Lepage" "à Paris" and chased with scrolls, hallmarked inside "DM" ?breech numbered 1154, light walnut frame, stock finely carved with scrolls, a "Neptune" head and a dolphin, stock cheek decorated with a rosette, hand grips carved in tortoiseshell, blued and case-hardened iron fittings, buttplate opening onto a reservoir containing a chimney cleaner and a fulminate capsule box, ramrod with metal tip. Paris, Lepage, circa 1830 Good condition, with minor damage to the wood on the stock and the ramrod. One butt plate screw changed, one suspension hook missing. Note : LEPAGE, Henri Jean André Prosper, born 1792, died 1854. Harquebusier and fourbisseur in Paris from 1822 to 1842. He succeeded his father Jean Lepage, harquebusier to His Majesty the Emperor and furrier in Paris (1779-1822). He became harquebusier to Louis XVIII, Charles X and the Dukes of Orleans.
