Second edition, partly original, revised and corrected, enlarged, volume III only, without the frontispiece engraving (reserved for large papers?). Edition of 2000 copies. Interesting provenance: Henry Poulaille (1896-1980), with his autograph signature on the flyleaf; handwritten note in blue pencil by Charles Peignot (1897-1983). He also gave Poulaille the volume of Molière's works, edited by Balzac, featured in our catalog. Half burgundy calf bradel, smooth spine with 5 faux-nerfs marked with 4 gilt fillets. Title rebacked, epidermal damage, scratches to title (on binding spine and faux-titre). (Tranchida, 233).
