BALZAC (Honoré de). LAS to the publisher Léon Curmer, Nov or Dec. 1839. 1 page and a half in-8, tears, missing bottom corner with damage to text, missing. Interesting letter concerning the publication of a text in "Les Français peints par eux-mêmes": "Send me Mr. Pétrus Borel's article in good print, because to place it you have to let him read it, and have him give it to me himself. I think you should let it be reproduced by the newspapers that have dealt with the Society, because when an article has this value of comedy and style, its probable propagation has an enormous influence on your sales, that's my opinion." On the back, autograph note added: "M. de Balzac prie monsieur Curmer de passer tout de suite rue Richelieu." Published in Correspondance de Balzac (Garnier, 1964, no. 1651).
