Scenes from private life…
Description

Scenes from private life. In-8, [4]-401-[1bl]-[1]p. Collective first edition containing, in particular, the introduction by Félix Davin in the original edition, dated April 27, 1835, but which obviously owes much to Balzac. The volume then contains three texts: Le Bal de Sceaux, Gloire et Malheur (later La maison du chat-qui-pelote) and La Vendetta. The three texts had already appeared in April 1830 with Mame and Delaunay-Vallée, but here they present numerous variants listed by P-G Castex, some of which are particularly important in the last two texts. Demi-basane, smooth spine decorated. Spine faded, upper jaw split at head, some freckling.
