Russian silver candy bowl of the transitional Empire era into eclecticism by the Finnish master of St. Petersburg Tamas Sokhka. 1837 Retains the compositional clarity and bravura of the Empire style, but in the flower garlands and acroteria of the handle fixtures, a different era can be discerned - the emerging historicism.
