AMLASH BRONZE STATUETTE OF THE KING OF THE ANIMALS
Ca. 1st millennium BC. An Amlash bronze statuette of the king of the animals represented standing and holding the collars of two animals (probably hounds); the human figure is made frontally with pectoral armour or large necklace; globular eyes and a high tiara. The animals are depicted stationary but in an attack position with their necks high and mouths open. Size: 60mm x 45mm; Weight: 90g Provenance: Property of an Oxfordshire art professional; previously in an old British collection, formed in the 1980s on the UK / International art markets.
