ACHAEMENID BRONZE DECORATED PHIALE
Ca. 600 - 400 BC.
An ancient bronze phiale with a unique texture. The vessel can be characterised as a 'mesomphalic' phiale due to the circular knob in the centre. Two decorative bands feature lotus flowers and almond-shaped patterns. These bowls were used in ceremonies for pouring liquids as offerings or for symbolic purification.
