ACHAEMENID SILVER REPOUSSÉ LOTIFORM PHIALE

Ca. 500 - 400 BC. An Achaemenid silver lotiform phiale. The exterior is decorated with repoussé lotus leaves and buds, a raised central omphalos on the interior; and a bronze lotiform phiale. The interior has a central additional silver omphalos and chased rosette; For similar see: Christie's, Live Auction 5952, Antiquities, Lot. 69.
