MEDIEVAL SELJUK BRONZE DECORATED INKWELL
Ca. AD 1100 - 1300.
A Medieval Seljuk bronze inkwell decorated on its cylindrical body with three registers. The main one bears a long kufic inscription, while the others are simple geometric decorative motifs. The lid is composed of an unusual double ridge shape and is surmounted with openwork decoration. For similar see: Islamic Metalwork from Afghanistan (9th-13th century), n. 390.
