BYZANTINE BRONZE ENCLOPION WITH CHRIST
Ca. AD 900 - 1200.
A Byzantine bronze enclopion composed of two halves. On the front side, we see a veiled figure, wrapped in a shawl with arms raised, with an inscription above. On the other side, there is a crucifix and an inscription. For similar see: Christie's, Live Auction 7659, Antiquities, Lot. 28.
