Description
Tira de encaje antiguo de Valenciennes (Francia) c- 1800
A strip of antique lace from Valenciennes (France). A lace whose singular decoration is a medallion framed with leaves where two human arms are inscribed forming a cross. This motif, which is repeated throughout the piece, can be related to the symbol of a Franciscan religious community. Religious lace that would have a good destiny for a brotherhood or sisterhood of Holy Week. Minimal flaws and small antique stains. Good preservation. Measures: 117 x 8,8 cm.
