A miniature female offering, solid cast. With arms and hands folded over the bust, combed with long braids in two distinct bands separated in the middle and tied at the bottom, this offering corresponds to a well-established archetype. Male figurines, also respecting another archetype, also exist. Often in silver, hollow or solid, more rarely in gold and solid silver as is the case here, the study of several groups of these miniature figurines testifies to the fact that their production had to be perfectly controlled. These votive figurines were dressed and then buried, in the foundations serving as an offering and constituting a sacrifice to the construction of a building or in the corner of a field to attract divine graces in order to obtain good or better harvests. The limited edition G8 fountain pen was chosen by the G8 department of the Italian Prime Ministers as the official writing instrument for signing documents during the G8 Summit. The Summit was held in the maritime city of Genoa from July 20-22, 2001. Marlen gave a pen to each of the Heads of State for signing official documentation during the Summit. It has been manufactured with the first super lightweight conical gray carbon fiber; designed and developed with the same advanced technology used in Formula One racing, space research, modern submarine design and modern aircraft development. Each fountain pen in the collection is adorned with solid 925 sterling silver accents. The sterling silver band features the official "G8 2001" logo.
