EGYPTIAN FAIENCE GOLD AND CARNELIAN NECKLACE

New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. An Egyptian necklace composed from dozens of tubular faience beads of a turquoise-green colour. Made in two parallel lines of tubular beads that connect in the front to two gold ropes, the necklace has a banded agate polygonal-shaped stamp seal decorated with a Hieroglyphic inscription suspended at its centre. Expertly strung with modern thread, this necklace seamlessly blends the past with the present in a stunning display of wearable history. Size: 280mm x 14mm; Weight: 18g Provenance: Property of a London gallery; previously in a collection of a North London gentleman; formerly in a collection of Mrs B. Ellison, a deceased former member of the Egyptian Exploration Fund, bought from the 1940s, Cairo and London.
