Description

CHRYSLER LE BARON CABRIOLET V6 Still based on the J-Body platform, Chrysler decided to completely renew the lines of its models for 1987. They adopted slimmer, slightly rounded shapes, with headlamps concealed by shutters. Powertrains remain the same: 4-cylinder 2.2-liter, then 2.5-liter, naturally-aspirated (not for Europe), turbocharged with or without intercooler. They are equipped with 4 or 5-speed manual gearboxes or 3-speed automatics. Available as 4-seater coupes or convertibles, they are part of Chrysler's offensive to return to Europe, with the Voyager, and other lesser-known models such as the 3-door ES and 5-door GTS. 1990 saw a complete overhaul of the dashboard, and above all the adoption of a 3-liter V6 engine from Mitsubishi. The automatic version received a new 4-speed gearbox. For 1993, the front end loses its shuttered headlamps in favor of slimmer, visible headlamps. Both models bowed out in 1995 after more than 400,000 units produced. An enviable score for "niche" models. The model shown here was launched in September 1993. It comes in a rare turquoise metallic livery and has 163,500 km on the clock. It is in good general condition.
