Dr. Hans Tomala, Porsche’s Technical Director, decided to turn his attention to Grand Touring, and asked the design genius FA “Butzi” Porsche, father of the 911, to take charge of the design... The result was breathtaking: the 904 became one of the most beautiful racing cars ever designed, and Butzi’s finest achievement. The key to this design prowess lay in the tight schedule imposed during the design phase, which was crucial: in just 6 months, the car went from the prototype phase to production, and to meet this deadline, Butzi Porsche worked without taking external comments into account!
