Description

Olympic Games/ Summer, 1948/ London. Official program for cycling at Herne Hill, August 7, 1948. Carefully annotated in pencil by their owner, these 14 pages allow us to follow in detail the 1000 scratch (8th and 1/4 finals of the sprint) and the 4000m team pursuit (first round and quarter-finals). In the meantime, our fabulous French team ABCD (Adam-Blusson-Coste-Decanali, 145-146-147-148) is back with its bibs. And here, they are dominating Austria and Switzerland, on their way to the title. Our sprinter Bellenger was eliminated in the 8th final by a Chilean. With bib 21, Jacques Dupont from the Ariege region of France is eating his heart out. A map of the track (460m) and a list of all the means of transport to get there complete this historic souvenir. Used condition. 21X13. Note that Charles Coste is still alive, and that a large statue in honor of Jacques Dupont is about to be unveiled in Pamiers.
