A decorative oinochoe after an antique model, late 19th - early 20th century Attractively designed oinochoe based on the model of so-called "Pontic vases", combining elements of different styles as a hybrid. "Etruscanizing" form of a jug with a cloverleaf mouth, conical neck, ovoid body and broad foot. The tendril decoration of the neck and the two lower decorative zones with staggered triangles and meanders above the foot are based on Attic vase painting. Three pictorial zones on the belly and shoulder with original, attractive animal studies modeled on Corinthian vase painting, including boars, griffins and panthers. Partially artificially applied incrustations, minimal wear, otherwise intact. Height 44.5 cm. Condition: II
