A visor cap for NCO's of the Kaiserliche Schutztruppe in German South West Africa, circa 1900 Soft visor cap made of light brown corduroy (slightly stained), cornflower blue cap band (small moth holes) and cap front (missing parts), complete with the Imperial cockade made of lacquered metal in crew version, soft black patent leather visor (cracked), black patent leather strap (repairs, left fastening pin incomplete). Ochre-coloured sweatband made of replacement material (cracks), fine ochre-coloured cloth lining, the old size inscription "54 1/2" under the peak. Slightly damaged, signs of age. Very rare worn piece. Condition: II -
