Description
Otto von Bismarck (1815 - 1898) - a portrait bust One-piece bronzed copper galvano, signed on the reverse "Harro Magnussen, Berlin 1894". A dedication plaque from 1908 ("Alfred Metz s./l. Fritz Schneider...") on the front of the profiled base. Slightly rubbed, signs of use and age. Height 30 cm. Expressive portrait bust of the chancellor with hat and coat. Magnussen (1861 - 1908) was a successful sculptor entrusted with numerous commissions for monuments at the end of the 19th century; he created the Bismarck statue in Kiel as well as several well-known busts and statuettes of Bismarck, which were considered particularly successful.
