Description
A field-grey visor cap for officers of the Hessian army and a Bavarian portepee Field-grey cloth with ponceau-red trim stripes and front peak, metal cockades in officer's version, black lacquered leather peak (pressure marks), black chin strap. Blue-grey silk lining (brownish discoloration in the middle), light brown oilcloth sweatband (somewhat rubbed, traces of black paint, small tears). Comes with a Bavarian portepee with blue silver ribbon, red leather lining and silver tassel with blue filling. Occasional small moth holes in the cap cloth. Slightly damaged in places, signs of wear and age. Condition: II
