A kepi cap for a French General of Division Cap body in red wool with three strands of gilt soutache piping at each side, at top a Hungarian knot of four strands in gilt wire indicating superior officer, within a circular soutache piped border, black cloth cap band with two rows of oakleaves, branches and acorns hand-embroidered in gilt wire, trimmed with gilt soutache at top and bottom. Black leather, textured visor with black, checkered underside. Gold silk lining, tan leather sweatband. Pre-WWI/WWI era. Size approx. 55 cm. USA lot - more info here Condition: II
