A sabre for officers of the light cavalry Heavy single-edged blade with double fullers on both sides and a double-edged pommel point (small crack), trophy and vine etchings (traces of gilding) on both sides of the upper quarter. Gilt non-ferrous metal knuckle-bow hilt (rubbed) with trophy relief on the obverse side of the quillons and lion's head pommel, chequered ebony grip (cracks). Brass scabbard (remnants of gilding, small dents, locket screw missing) with two movable suspension rings. Slightly damaged in places, signs of age. Length 109 cm. Condition: II
