Description
A sabre for members of the light cavalry, late 18th century Heavy, slightly curved single-edged blade (stained) with a fuller on both sides and a double-edged point in the line of the back. Brass knuckle-bow hilt with a black leather grip (rubbed) and simple brass wire winding, leaf-shaped guard plates in relief. Black leather-covered scabbard with wooden core, brass mountings (small dents), iron tang and two movable suspension rings. Signs of use and age. Length 106 cm. Robust, worn service weapon for field use. Condition: II
