Description

Order of St. Alexander, 1st Class, 2nd pattern, 1887 - 1908 Set of the 1st Class, consisting of: Cross of the 1st Class, silver, gilt and enameled, on a ready-made original sash; Breast Star, silver, partly gilt, medallion ring enameled, cross and breast star without hallmarks, but indisputably attributable to the French company Kretly, Paris, because the flying pendilia under the crown of the cross of the Order differ markedly from the Austrian version. The lettering and laurel branches are separately applied to the medallion ring on the breast star, the rear lower arm of the cross is re-enameled, one arm of the cross has enamel damage. The white enamel on the breast star somewhat dull and yellowish due to improper cleaning.
