Fully sculpted depiction of Bacchus as a nude figure of a youth leaning against the side of a tree stump with vines and grapes and looking at a bowl of wine in his raised right hand. Statue inspired by ancient Roman sculptures of Bacchus, such as the one in the Prado in Madrid and the Louvre in Paris, as well as the famous Bacchus by Michelangelo (1496/97). Separate rectangular pedestal base. Sculpture h. approx. 180 cm; plinth h. approx. 50 cm; overall h. approx. 230 cm.
