Description

Charles Ernest Dagonet (1856 Châlons-en-Champagne - 1926 ibid.) attr; Indian chief stalking on the ground with a tomahawk Bronze, dark and golden brown patina. Signed under the pseudonym "E. CUY" attributed to Dagonet, stamped "FRANCE". Black, white and ochre veined marble base. Dagonet studied under Jean-Paul Laurens and his father-in-law Augustin Jean Moreau-Vautier in Paris. He exhibited at the Salon for the first time in 1883 and exhibited at the World Exhibitions in Paris in 1889 and 1900, where he received a bronze and silver medal respectively. Overall dimensions 17 cm x 42 cm x 11.8 cm. Attributed to Charles Ernest Dagonet (1856 - 1926). Dark brown and golden brown patinated bronze. Signed "E. CUY" and stamped "FRANCE".
