Albrecht Dürer (1471 Nuremberg - 1528 ibid.) after "Great triumphal chariot". Original title Copper engraving (of 3 plates)/paper, 1606. Reduced copper engraving copy (without text and signatures) of the triumphal chariot of Emperor Maximilian cut into wood by Albrecht Dürer in 1522. Published (according to Schoch/Mende/Scherbaum) in: Anon. (Hans Imhoff [ed.]): Theatrum Virtutis & Honoris oder Tugend Büchlein: Außlichen fürtrefflichen Griechischen und Lateinischen Scribenten ins Teutsch gebracht / Durch Herrn Wilibald Pirckheymern [...]. Nuremberg: Paul Kauffmann, 1606. wvz. Schoch/Mende/Scherbaum 257 copies III, cf. Meder 252. Plate in total c. 101.5 cm x 20.5 and 12.3 cm resp. Frame. According to Rainer Schoch, Matthias Mende and Anna Scherbaum, this print was made by Jakob Binck (ca. 1500 - 1569), thus following Gottlieb von Murr's attribution. According to Joseph Heller, this print is too late for Jakob Binck and he suggests Heinrich Ulrich (1567 - 1621) as the maker instead.
