Characteristic motif and style of Querner, who studied at the Dresden Academy under Richard Müller, Georg Lührig and Otto Dix from 1926. He found his motifs, which he mainly realized in drawings and watercolours, in his home region - landscapes from the Vorerzgebirge, village motifs from his home town of Börnchen and urban motifs from the poor suburbs of Dresden.
