Troels Wörsel (1950 Aarhus - 2018 Cologne) Untitled A strongly impasto composition reduced to black and orange, gesturally applied by the self-taught Danish artist. Based on American conceptual art, Wörsel constantly experimented with different painting methods and styles and thus continuously developed his visual language. From 1983-1985, he reduced his color palette to black, grey and orange, of which the present work is an apt example. From 1969 onwards, his works were shown in numerous group and solo exhibitions. In 2007, he designed the Danish Pavilion at the 52nd Venice Biennale. Acrylic/light cardboard, mounted on canvas; signed and dated on verso. 1983. ca. 71 cm x 51 cm. Acrylic paint on thin cardboard, laid down on canvas. Signed and dated 1983 on the reverse.
