Decorative plate with "Korean lion" decoration in kakiemon style Round shape with molded rim. "Sulkowski" decoration in relief. In a slightly recessed mirror, the so-called "Korean lion" near a flying heron, surrounded by peony branches, grasses and ferns as well as cockchafers, with flowering branches and butterflies on the rim. Polychrome painting in the Kakiemon style in iron red, enamel blue, sea and moss green, brown, yellow and purple. Turner's mark for Johann Martin Kittel. Unmarked; sword mark. D. 22.5 cm. Provenance: from the liquidation of an important North German private collection. A pair of Kakiemon style porcelain plates painted with decor "Korean lion" surrounded by a heron and arrangements of peonies. Insignificantly rubbed. Crossed swords mark. Meissen. Circa 1735 - 1740.
