Light cavalry or Guard of Honor officer's gibbet with crimson morocco-covered wooden case, silver-plated brass side panels, brace plate edged with silver-plated copper wire embroidery, central motif with crowned eagle (in 2 parts), head to the right, in silver-plated copper, banderole in fine buffalo covered in crimson morocco with full-length embroidered border in silvered copper wire, silvered copper shield adorned with a gilded and guilloché "N" under the crown, silvered copper lion's head needle-holder button, silvered copper buckle. 1st Empire period. TBE Set in exceptionally fresh condition, to be compared with a similar example in poor condition sold by Salorges Enchères on August 12, 2015, no. 175.
