To Be Sold With No Reserve A lustre ware and cobalt blue conical bowl Kashan, central Iran, first quarter 13th century On tall straight foot, with slightly flaring body, the base with a turquoise blue crane against a radiating medallion, the radial decoration to the cavetto consisting of six repeating panels inhabited by facing perched birds on scrolling ground within a roundel below a register of stylised flying birds on similar ground, interspersed with vertical calligraphic inscriptions in naskh script, all delineated in cobalt blue, the rim with loose naskh script 23.4cm. diam.
