An illustrated folio from a Persian epic, probably a Khamsa of Nizami Ganjavi illustrating a story about Majnun, Safavid Iran, 17th century, Persian manuscript on paper, depicting a troupe of camels heralded by trumpeters, some parts re-painted, with four columns of nasta'liq text above and below, backed on brown card, in double sided plexiglass, 25 x 16.8cm. Provenance: Arthur M. Sackler Collection, (1913-1987), collected 1970 or earlier.
