A presentation sword, The blade, eastern Europe, 19th century, the mounts and sheath, possibly Ottoman, late 19th century or later, The European cavalry blade, single fullered, curved, the forte inscribed "Pro Deo et Patria", and engraved heart issuing simplified hanging and rising scrolls above, geometric patterns within near square panels above and below the whole, the scalloped pommel, grip and cross with agate-like glass insets and applied scrolling silver wire decoration, the sheath covered in leather, its mounts with similar insets and silver wire decoration, fitted with four suspension rings, in a modern shadow box frame, bearing dedication plaque dated 27 January 2005.
